Teachers Fight Back

Defend and Support School Teachers of America

Welcome to Teachers Fight Back

with one comment

This web site has been established in order to defend and support the hardworking school teachers of America.  The following list contains a few of the many concepts that will be discussed.

  1. Why during the last several years teachers have come under unprecedented criticism.
  2. Why “teacher bashing” has replaced baseball as the national pastime, and what teachers and their unions should be doing about it.
  3. Why merit pay is a terrible concept and why all teachers should be opposed to it.
  4. Why teacher tenure is a necessary evil and should be retained.
  5. How teacher unions have failed their memberships.
  6. How and why the demands on teachers have increased dramatically in the last decade; and why teachers have allowed it to happen.

  1. I’m a college professor in TX. We are not permitted to form a union, but that doesn’t mean we can’t mobilize into a powerful political force. I also think K-12 teachers and college teachers have plenty of common ground and should form political alliances. I’m interested in working with all teachers, especially those in San Antonio (where I work), Austin, and nearby areas.
