ANOTHER WASTED $195,000
Chicago public school officials have created a new position, “chief transformation officer”. This person is supposed to,” work across CPS departments to ensure that reforms such as the longer school day and a more rigorous curriculum are implemented effectively”. The position was filled with a person from the business world, not education, and will pay $195,000.
I have an idea how the district could have saved the $195,000. Have a meeting with all the principals, tell them to rigorously enforce the longer school day and the new curriculum. There, done, no need for a “transformation officer”.
Apparently school district officials don’t trust that their principals can tell time and or that they can read a curriculum manual and enforce it. Good grief ! What next ?
Typical useless administrative type, the work is either useless or duplicative.
